Wow, at first when I read that it was snowing where you are, I thought this must be an old question, but then I saw it was posted 9 minutes ago at the time I read it. I had to check weather.com because I didn't believe you about the snow! I'm in Michigan, and we had a high of 78 degrees today. I did hear that it was supposed to cool down over the weekend, but not that much! (Though I don't think snow is going to reach the lower part of the state, where I am.)

Anyway, April weather in the Midwest can be pretty crazy, with rain and thunderstorms and tornados, so I'm guessing it was probably just a little bit of thunder and lightning somewhere off in the distance. (With snow coming in at this time of year, the air is probably crackling with electricity.) If the boom seemed to be too loud to go with a far-off flash of lightning, maybe it was just a car backfiring, or some kids setting off a firework. If it happens again, and you still can't ascertain the cause, I would wake your parents up gently.

Try to stay calm. It's probably nothing.

    Good luck!

  • perhaps someone drove or walked by, did something to cause the noise, and then took a picture, thus the flash. don't worry - you'll be fine, my friend.

Maybe it was a transformer that wasn't connected to your house? Do you live in a neighborhood?

  • you're not a baby, just take a deep breath and relax if it happens again wake-up your parents (that's what they're for)

no problem hope you find out what it was~Alex

dont worry yourself to much about it, it could've been anything but i doubt anything to be worried about, i live by myself and sometimes i hear somethings but i just ignore them and rememer that i'm fearless

Idk, if it happens again, go wake your parents.
