A better way to apply self-tanning lotion?
I'm using a self-tanning lotion to get a bit of color in my pale skin for the summer. I'm on a medication that makes me break out in hives when I'm in the sun for too long, so I can't lie in the tanning bed or in the real sun.
I've gotten the hang of applying it to my arms, chest and face. No streaks, no splotches and it looks good. But I'm having a hard time getting it right on my legs. Parts look sun-kissed and glowing, while others look like a child drew on my with an orange marker.
Any tips to getting this even on my pale legs?

Often the streaks happen because of application. With a bronzer, like Jergans or a stronger sunless tanner you should apply it in a circular motion until all of it is absorbed evenly. If you try and go up and down it will streak.
The difference between a bronzer and sunless tanner is that with a bronzer you need to use it for several days in a row or sometimes even longer to really notice a color change. These work well because there is less chance of streaking.
With a sunless tanner you will notice a color change in a matter of a few hours. Any mistakes you make during application will be noticed then too! Also, on any dry patches of skin you might want to rub in just a tiny bit of moisturizer when using a sunless tanner or they may appear darker. Wash your hands and then apply the tanner. The moisturizer will prevent some of the DHA from absorbing into your skin.
Make sure you wash your hands well after application! Especially with a sunless tanner, don't forget this important step!

Make sure your legs are shaved and also try exfoliating your legs while in the shower. When applying a lotion first spread it evenly on your whole leg, and then rub it in thoroughly with circular motions. You shouldn't end up with streaks or splotches. It may take you a while to get the hang of it.

You could get a spray on tanner, that should get it more even than a lotion but its still hit 'n' miss.
hope i helped a bit =]
