Flat Coca-Cola for Battery Terminal Cleaning?

I opened a 2-liter of (actually, store brand) cola to clean the battery terminals on my car. Will it work just as well once it's gone flat? I only used a little bit out of the 2-liter.

The phosphoric acid is what provides the cleaning action, but the best thing is a wire brush and some vigorous scrubbing. Drink the coke to give you the energy to complete the job.

No. Simple baking soda and water is more cost effective.
