My laptop is not picking up a connection from my router?

Make sure your wireless is switched on then go to network connections in start, settings. It should then show you what networks are available(right click and press connect!), you may need a wep key to connect (this is usually on a sticker on the bottom of the router).

Go on to your router settings and turn wireless on you usualy need to type the IP address of the router in to your browser

My mum's laptop had that prob. Some laptops have a switch on them somewhere which activates the build in wireless system. Have a look on the front of your laptop and see if that does the trick.

There should be a small switch on your laptop to enable wireless connection, its either on the right or left side of your laptop.

Is your router encrypted? if so you need the code to enter in your computer.

If not encrypted, restart both your computer and router and give then a few minutes.... make sure your wifi is on , on your laptop

Also make sure you are near your router so you can get a strong enough signal to start out.
