How long do you think ?

It would take for the stores to start rationing goods such as milk, bread, and other staples that we need if the truckers stop delivering products because they can not pay for gas.

    That won't happen.

The truckers will have to charge more for the transportation so they can pay for the gas, and the consumer is going to spend more on theese products, so the only restriction is made by the price.Obviously if its expensive you are going to buy less.

5-7 days. This is only IF all trucks shut down nationwide for the duration of 5 days which unfortunately is unlikely to happen. There countries largest trucking companies do not support the strikes JB Hunt & Schneider, it is very difficult for independents to shut down, the only answer to keeping a truck now days is to work as many hours as possible, freight is slow as it is and rates are down. First we saw owner operator truckers losing their trucks, then the companies folding, now the truck stops are going under. Deliveries already have slowed down since demand is no longer as high and demand has slowed down because truckers eventually get SOME compensation for the fuel price.

The answer is IF trucks were to shut down you would need staples for 5-7 days but with fuel prices as high as they are most people are already prepared. The difference will be with re-stocking of stores and many stores are already stocking less.

It is not going to happen. This is one of the "the press is bored" hypes that has no basis in the American economy. The countries that are going to screw up are the socialized ones with central farming and collective plans. The USA has a very diverse, commercial agricultural system that can turn on a dime when food supplies shift. This is why liberal, social programs down' t work, it is too centralized.

it will not happen soon. but the prices are going to get in a scale never seen before in this country. this is a very serious sign in what the US is becoming. I hope and pray the people do something for this country because in it goes the faith of millions of people who could be starving and living miserable life's in few years.

I don't think that will happen either.

But now is a good opportunity to buy locally and encourage your local economy.
