in a wire feed welder "mig" you usuallly hva a copper coated iron wire to make the weld, & fooded with CO2, Ar, or He
"tig" uses a "nonconsumable" tungsten electrode & can be used for welding Aluminum, Magnesium or copper..
you will consume a filler rod of the metal & flood the welding area usually with argon
acetylene welding uses brass or mild steel rod filler, coated with a flux, & oxygen-acetylene to heat the metals up to fusion
