As a giants fan i have given him a year to show me that he is worth the 126 million dollars.He has been a bust since coming over the bay to S.F,he is not worth 126 mill, right now....his fastball sucks and he is not hitting his spots, even if he could pitch 7-8 inning and held teams to 2-3 runs, the giants cant score runs. Zito needs to stand at entrance gates and give some of the money back to the fans, is just fair. Just be glad the Giants got rid of Matt Morris when they had the chance or else you would have two big losers instead of one!

So far i would have rather given matt cain of the giants that money. Zito had a bad year last year and he is about to be 0-5. Sry if i sound mean but i havnt seen him pitch a decent game. I dont know if u saw his last start when he got taken out in the 5th inning cause he gave up a double to the pitcher and two runs scored but the giants coach looked pissed and didnt give zito a pat on the back.

And what do u know zito only makes it through 3 innings and gives up 8 runs yesterday verse the reds

I think that saying he's going to the "bullpen" is just a fancy way of saying "we're fed up with you and you better get your s**t together."

I dont think that he will be used in games where the score is close or when the Giants are up. Giants mgmt knows that he is a liability to the team and will probably let him pitch in cream puff situations so he can get his confidence back up.

I swear on everything holy that if he blows a Tim Lincecum lead a costs the team the game, that I am just gonna tune out for the rest of the season and come back next year. I cant stomach watching another outing when either him or Ray Durham single handedly cost the team the game.

As for your second question. Pat Misch [sp?] was called up and pitched fairly decently yesterday. He may get Barry's spot while Lowry is rehabing. Merkin Valdez is also a strong candidate. He had a start early in the year against the Dodgers and actually did really well. So, maybe there might be a combination of Misch and Valdez or just Misch.

Either way...I am really relieved that the Giants finally acted on Zito. It shows that they are trying to win games instead of playing to egos and paychecks.

putting zito in the bullpen was a really great idea because he sucks he is 0-6

its a good move and its necessary to iron out some of his problems on the mound

i know it sucks about the contract but really guys, who cares, its the pocketbooks of peter mcgowan and we are happy zito is there, it just sucks thats hes not all together right now

pat misch will be elevated to the rotation for the time being and we will see how it goes

but zio should only be there for a month or two so he can get back into the groove of things
