commission >= 1500 - 1250
commission >= 250
since commission = .05 x sales
.05 x sales >= 250
sales >= 250 / .05
sales >= 5000

Jordan's commission $1500-$1250 =$ 250
sales=
S x 5%=$250
S x 5/100= $250
s x 5 =25000
s=25000/5
s= $5000

The general equation is:
salary + (sales * commission) = money earned
So, plug in what you know and solve for what you need:
1250 + (s * .05) = 1500
.05s = 250
s = 250/.05 = 5000
So, Jordan needs to sell $5000 worth of merchandise to earn $1500 a month.

let s = the amount of Jordan's sales
$1250 + 0.05(s) = $1500
subtracting $1250 from both sides,
0.05(s) = $250
dividing both sides by 0.05
s = $5000
Jordan must sell $5000 worth of whatever it is he sells to make $1500 this month.

he will need to earn $1500-$1250= $250 in commision
commision = .05 * s
250 = .05 * s
s = 250/.05
s= $5000
therefore he would have to sell at least $5000 to earn 1500 in a month

s=(1500-1250)/%5=250/0.05=5000

$1500 = salary + commission
so commission = $250
therefore if
5% - $250
100% - $X
5x = 25000
x= $5000

earnings are 1200 plus 5% of sales
1500 = 1200 + 0.05s
300 = 0.05s
300/0.05 = s
60,000 = s
