    Real Hip Hop never died.

"Real" Hip Hop doesn't depend on people getting record deals. It depends on rather there are lyricists still producing actual raps. Not that **** on the radio.

So my point: Hip Hop is not dead.

Hiphop is not dead. Hiphop has only become less mainstream than it once was.

You see, Hiphop is poetry with a beat, with rhymes that were written ABOUT something. That is Hiphop.

There is an entirely seperate genre that is for meaningless songs or songs about love. Songs that are catchy and easy to dance to. This genre has existed forever. Its called pop. Songs like Crank That, Cyclone, and Flo-rida,, fit into this 2nd genre.

Hiphop wasn't killed by ignorant artists that make stupid songs, it is only hidden by them. Because of those kind of artists, hiphop doesn't get played on the radio, but that doesn't make hiphop cease to exist. Wherever there is a basement, or an alley, or a park, with kids playing with words or beats, or using rhymes as a method to channel their feelings about something, there is real hip hop.
