Stamps...?

Yes, I know, it doesn't really belong here - I've searched everywhere but cannot find an appropriate category.

I know it's a stupid question, believe me - but how do you know how many stamps to put on a package? The thing I am trying to send is not an actual package, it's one of those yellow large envelopes. I am trying to send it overseas to Ireland.

Please answer soon, I want to have it mailed by May 2nd.

Update:

It probably weighs next to nothing - all that it is inside of the envelope is paper. Will it weigh enough to use more than one stamp?

Go to the post office and ask them, they'll tell you what to do. It's not like they're going to laugh at you for asking, if that's what you think. It's their job to deal with these things.

    Get it weighted.

It's going to be at least 90 cents an ounce overseas.

it depends on what it weighs. the best thing to do is take it to the post office. if you don't put enough stamps on it, you'll end up getting it back for insufficient postage.
