I need quick, easy, and cheap Mother's Day crafts for a class of first graders. Any ideas?
I teach first grade and I have normal classroom supplies (Examples: Construction Paper, Glue, Glitter, Paint, etc.). I want to have my students make something unusual for a Mother's Day gift that doesn't require me or parents to buy anything. Please give me any ideas you have!

I know what it's like to need a quick, inexpensive easy idea for Mother's Day. I felt I had to be original and different every year, especially since I also taught 1st grade for many years.
I am passing on one of my favorite crafts:Some really wonderful clothespins magnets so kids can display their art/work on their fridge at home!
Click on the link below for the instructions:

Feel free to check out all of the other wonderful craft ideas they have- for all holidays, including many I never even heard of! This site was bookmarked on my classroom computer when I was in the classroom.
Enjoy!

Well this isn't so much a keepsake gift, but it is a cute and different idea of something to do for mothers day. It does require some purchasing, but generally it's less than $10.
My kids make teacup biscuit treats for mothers day. They each have a round biscuit for the saucer (we use 'tic toc'' biscuits). Then they use icing sugar to glue a marshmallow onto the biscuit and a chocolate freckle on top of the marshmallow. Then 1/2 a lifesaver on the side of the marshmallow for the handle. It's quick and easy and the kids love it.

with the construction paper made a card, in the front you can paint the hands of the child, with glitter around . inside the card put a picture of the child with a very simple poem like : roses are red, violets are blue. sugar is sweet and so are you.

they could make their mother a cut out flower with construction paper, where they have to cut out the petals and put glitter on them and put them together to form a flower. All different colors and kinds

One of my most treasured gifts on mothers day was a sillhoiette of my son's profile, drawn from his shadow on a piece of contruction paper.
