    Not in general. 'Mate' is a generic term for friend, usually of the same sex.

    One's life-mate, on the other hand, would certainly be suitable for breeding.

    Since a mating between a homo sapiens and a sheep does not produce a fertile offspring I'm afraid we have no choice but to breed with our friends which are of our own species.

    Of course we do, you wouldnt have kids to someone you werent at least friends with. Most would consider thier partner (boy/girlfriend husband/wife) to also be a mate.

    thats racist, f u c k you buddy! australians are just like you, and im guessing ur an american, and im not racist towards americans, im just streotyping all americans, because every american ive seen on tv, besides gwen stefani, and a few others, and americans ive met in real life, they all suck, and my family doesnt like americans much either, i am a proud canadian and i pray for the british common wealth the stay strong, its whats keeping uss from you, plus, im moving to australia, and ive visited there, its where i fell in love with a person, and trust me, they are just like canadians with an accent, oh, and they dont like americans either because you try to run their country, forcing ur stupid money on them!
