I think someone is trying to commit fraud against me....help?
I was at a roundabout in my car about a week ago. The car in front suddenly stopped, i have no idea why. i hit the car in front very slightly, not enough to cause a dent or anything like that. However, the women had a dent in her audi....she blamed it on me saying that me hitting the car caused it. I measured my bumper and compared it to the size of the dent, my bumper was too big to cause the size of that dent. But she still went on and was asking the insurers to pay for the damage. The insurance pay out around £900 in total.
My question is, do you think this is fraud, because believe me, there was aboslutley no way i could have cmade that dent and the women just stopped in front of me for no reason?!
Anyway, any help is appreciated,
Thanks.

it sounds to me like she is a scammer hun, i would contact your insurance and see if there is any advice they can give you , buy unfortunately you may have been driving a little too close to her so the blame falls to you, sad i know but thats what happens. good luck getting it sorted

Whatever the real situation is here, the law is on her side, if you go into the back of someone, it is perceived as your fault, she may well have suddenly stopped without cause or reason at a roundabout, it may well have been impossible to anticipate this, but the law states that if you had been driving correctly/responsibly/with due care and attention, you would not have shunted her, however gently from behind. Whether you actually made the dent on her bumper or not, or even if you think she set this up so she could get her bumper fixed after someone else did this, the law is on her side and it is unlikely to be a case of fraud.

This is a difficult question, because no one reading your question can be sure of the facts surrounding the incident. I fist think of all the treachery in the bible when fraud is committed. In first Kings the wicked king Ahab, who served as king in God's nation of ancient Israel coveted Naboth's vineyard, and subsequently had Naboth killed to obtain Naboth's vineyard, (1st Kings chapter 21). Psalms 119:165 says there is no stumbling block for a servant of Jehovah, even if it is being ripped off from a person who pretends to be a brother/sister. The Bible says we live in critical times hard to deal with. In these critical times brother/sister may turn on brother/sister, however Jehovah knows exactly what is in a person's heart. Our sincere prayers can be for a person who is the victim of fraud. Most of Jehovah's Witnesses are not lawyers, so the court may be the best place to settle a matter that requires legal judgment concerning money matters.

You have my sympathies, but it will be very hard for you to prove , as every driver knows if you hit someone up the back end it is deemed their fault as they say you should not be travelling so near that you have not time to stop, ( say a child ran out and the person in front has to slam the bakes on, ) this is what I am saying you need to have a safe breaking distance between you and the person in front.. so sorry but not everyone is honest as you have just found out..

yea sounds like fraud to me. She was paying attention to you and need some money. Call and talk with your insurance company. They might not want to deal with it but at least you have it on record that you think she did it on purpose.
Stupid people like that make the prices go up.

possibly - ive heard load of things like this, like people stopping suddenly so one car hits another...and all because they want the money. i would go to the citizens advice or maybe even the police if your that worried about it as she may have done it before. Jo

Could be but typically your insurance company would investigate this , however because its not Thousands they may just pay up , I think perhaps you could tell your insurance company to fight it....

Tell your insurance company your suspicions and then let them sort it out.
