It's a good idea. Monkeys are lovable creatures and make wonderful friends and pets.

Good:

1) [S]He'll never tell you that you look ugly

2) [S]He'll never steal your boyfriend/girlfriend.

3) Bananas are the cheapest fruit

Bad:

1) They'll muss up your house

2) You never know...your boyfriend or girlfriend may have a monkey fetish...which rules out the second good point...

3) Monkeys fling poo

You can love that monkey, but your best friend should be human and someone who spends time with you talking. And, if you do have a monkey, you need to treat it like a creature with social, emotional, and physical needs.

just look at "marcel" (who, by the way, ended up being the infected monkey that spread the disease on the movie "outbreak") from the tv show "friends" :)
