Traditionally speaking, what do you plan on doing with your May pole today?

There is a little know tradition where young gay men (over age 18) dance around my May Pole. Many spring flowers and festive ribbons are involved...

...ooh...and there's tequila too!

Well, after work I'm going to shove a hose in the end of it and very lightly turn the water on. If anything leaks out I have a special mud and joint compound to cram in the leak. Once it dries I'm going to osmocote the very tip, get the drill out and attach a quick connect to the underside of the top so that in the future when I feel the need to do this I can do so without destroying anything growing on it.

I"m hoping it will be kind of like a gianormous chia pet before too long.

EDIT: Someplace I've to a picture of the one I did last year. All the ladies in town loved it. A few of the guys, too. Who wouldn't want a 10 foot tall continuously blooming flower penis in thier front yard?

I remember we used to dance around it, the boys wrapping it with blue ribbon, the girls with pink. When did that tradition in our public schools stop? Probably when someone realized that it was a pagan fertitlity rite. Now for May Day I just march around the kitchen table singing the Internatinale: "Brothers, brothers, let us rally. The final conflict we must face! The Internationale unites the human race!"

Well my 'may pole' comes out on November 1st as I celebrate Beltane in Spring (I live in Australia) so it was my Samhain today.

I know it's not in May, but seasons are reversed :p

Encircle it with ribbons and flowers and stick it in a May basket.
