    Hi,

Some chickens don't go broody, like modern day hybrids, there are bred to lay eggs and that's it all there motherly tendencies have gone.

If you want a certain breed to go broody, leave the eggs in the nest box, that may work, but I think the only really method you can use is to buy some silky bantams. These birds are bred to lay a few egg and then sit them, they can go broody upto 4 times a year even in winter!

You can not force a bird to go broody, she will let you know when she is ready to become a mother.

I know a Chicken owner who advised to wait until they are 'in season'(I'm not sure when that is) and put fake eggs in there nesting area, this seems to work

Don't disturb then too much and leave false eggs in the nice clean nest area, that and look after their other needs well. It's all in the temprament though.
