They are going to let Michelle appear in public again. Her role is to convince people Obama is not an elitist

but is one of the "working class". Do you think she can do this? Can anyone do this? Can it be done?

Update:

Ticking Time Bomb I never said anything about her proving anything about herself. They have put her out there to make the case that Baracka is not an elitist. Read the question, please.

Update 2:

Dani, none of them have started a tour to convince the public that they are "working class". They are privileged and admit it.

Every time I think of Michelle it reminds me that Obama used an earmark of a Million Dollars to his wifes non-profit hospital, and they then raised her salary from $140K to over $300K it's sleazy and dishonest.

Plus the hospital overcharged people without insurance who were poor to begin with.

"In 2006, the Chicago Tribune reported that Mrs. Obama’s compensation at the University of Chicago Hospital, where she is a vice president for community affairs, jumped from $121,910 in 2004, just before her husband was elected to the Senate, to $316,962 in 2005, just after he took office." Looks like that raise was worth it.

Obama Requested $1 Million For Construction Of A New Hospital Pavilion At The University Of Chicago. In 2006, Obama requested that the University of Chicago receive $1 million to support its Construction of New Hospital Pavilion. For more than 75 years, the University of Chicago Hospitals (UCH) has provided state of the art medical care on the South Side of Chicago."

It's difficult for any politician, particularly one running for President, to be seen as a true member of the working class. Senator McCain has had a sheltered life (other than his imprisonment as a POW) as the son and grandson of Admirals, receiving his health care for free; additionally, he is married to the heiress of a beer distribution company, and the McCains' collective current net worth is between $27 and $45 million. Former President Clinton connects well with the working class, and by association so does Senator Clinton, despite their collective push of NAFTA and CAFTA, sending American jobs permanently out of the country to pad big business's wallet. Additionally, they have reported a total income of $109 million between 2000 and 2007.

Senator Obama has been a lawyer, an Illinois State Senator, and now a United States Senator, none of which are precisely middle-of-the-road jobs on the average citizens' pay scale. Additionally, he has the income from two bestselling books on his tax returns in the last couple of years, and his wife made a not inconsiderable salary as a VP of the University of Chicago Hospitals until she "scaled back" to stump for him on the campaign trail.

What is key is not that Obama be seen as "one of the working class," but that he be seen as being able to address the concerns of the working class. While he is closer in income range that the 8-figure incomes of his rivals in the Presidential race, that's not what is going to help sell his candidacy; instead, it will be the populist sentiment which he has cultivated successfully since John Edwards dropped out of the Democratic Primary. Obama's political message connects with the disenfranchised and the financially-afllicted working poor and middle class, and that is where Michelle Obama's efforts will likely be directed.

human beings choose jobs and to be secure from terrorist assaults they do no longer care who gets audited by the IRS. Few human beings have any sympathy for people who get political welfare and tax breaks jointly as maximum individuals are taxed to loss of life in this united states of america. next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, we could continuously all document a 501 C-4 type and declare we are a political corporation which prevents the IRS from auditing us. it can be a suitable thank you to laundry funds.

All the candidates spouses have taken hits.

    Botox Cindy.

    Red faced Bill.

I just heard the tape of Michelle speaking about working families and values. I thought she was right on the money. Someone mentioned her $300,000 job. That's true. She got it the way most of us got our jobs.

Chelsea Clinton also makes a six figure salary. No interview. Daddy got that job for her. And, she gets a year off to campaign for her mom.

I saw Mrs Obama on television and she came across to me at times as being filled with a lot of anger.

Her now famous line (no need to repeat it again) reflects her true feeling toward this country. To me, rightly or wrongly, she reflects black hate. I'm sorry, but that is the way I see her.

I don't see her having any impact on undecideds or Clinton supporters.

Michelle has already convinced me that she is a sarcastic, snobbish, and racially bitter individual. Poor woman, she can't even make ends meet on their very good salaries.

They have both let a little success go to their heads.

She is a deterrent to the campaign.

Right. That's like sending David Duke out there to convince people that Obama isn't racist.

I think "elitist" and elitist views are being confused. The question is if he looks down on "average" Americans and/or Americans that aren't like him.

Thank you, Jet!! Let us not forget Miss Chelsea and her part in supporting her mother. Michelle is doing what any other wife or daughter would do.
