my moms dog keeps getting on the counter in the kitchen and eats whatever she can get to. she started doing this when my dad moved out with his dog (my dads dog dose that to) and we dont know how to stop my moms dog from doing this. how do we stop her from doing it? she only dose it when we all leave the house or when my mom leaves for school in the mornings.

Okay, first of all, don't leave food on the the counter. Secondly, put up some of those baby fences to keep your mom's dog out of the kitchen. If that doesn't work, get one of those beeping mats and put it on the counter edges.

What might help is trying to feed her a more varied diet. Think about it, if you just ate cereal all the time, wouldn't you snatch food too? I saw this show once, and the dog had the same problem. That (what i said above) cured it.

  • I highly recommend crating an animal. It is better for the animal. She cannot get into anything that can harm her and you are much happier returning home to a house that hasn't been turned upside down.

Try to get senser alarms. Anytime your dog jumps on the counter the alarm willgo off and he will get off. He will do it over and over again until he gets tired of trying. I think they sell them a petsmart or online
