I have a question about where to find a (windows 32) file extension opener.?

I received an email which has several different file extensions that i need a program to open it with and i have been searching the internet and haven't found it yet.

Any suggestions!

Thanks,

Shawn

Update:

I have Windows XP.

Update 2:

The file extensions are .doc, .docx, and .jpg.

Is there a program that opens a majority of these extensions? I really appreciate it.

That depends entirely on the extensions you've recieved. There are (quite literally) THOUSANDS of different extensions out there, and there's no one magic app which will open them all. It depends on what software has been used to compile the files, what they are for (video/audio/photos/applications etc etc).

Maybe if you repost with an idea of the extensions you're looking for, we might be able to help you.

OK, looks like you've receieved this file from someone using Vista. The *.docx extension tells me that the file has been saved out from Word/Office 2007. Nothing older than this will open these files--unless whoever has saved the file has saved it to be compatible with older versions (which 98% of folks don't do).

*.doc files and *.jpg files are fairly standard, and you should already have applications on yoiur system to handle them. But I reckon you're gonna have to get back to whoever sent you that file and ask them to save it as an older version.

    Good luck..............

Any picture viewer (Windows has it's own default viewer so it shouldn't be a problem) or even your web browser will open JPG files. If you need a picture viewer go here (select the free ones): http://www.fileinfo.net/help/image-viewers.html

Doc extensions will open with word 2003 or older versions. Docx is the new format being used by office 2007. You can still open .docx extensions with office 2003 but you need to install an office compatibility pack. Download here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?Fa...

    Enjoy and good luck!
