Any senior ladies, did you wear the stockings with those sexy seams?

That brings back some memories. I remember my very first pair of nylons. We called them glass nylons because they were so sheer. I just loved them. Did you ever use the ones that only had a seam going about 12 inches up the leg from the ankle and had little arrows on them. (On the seam I mean)

I come from a family of 7 girls and on Friday and Saturday nights there was a constant cry of 'are my seams straight'. Those were the days. Getting ready to go out was almost the best part of the evening. We really had glamour then. The young ones spend a fortune on designer jeans but they all look the same and might as well be going to do some gardening etc. instead of going out for the evening.

I'll grudgingly admit that technically I am a senior - I do remember my very first pair of silk stockings. I was 13, and they were actually silk. Didn't last too long, and I think I wore them to shreds.

Seams were a pain in the whatever - hard to keep them straight, especially since they had to be attached using a garter belt. Pantihose are so much better!

I wore to nylons with the seam up the back when i was teenager, they were so hard to keep the the seam straight, You wear a garter belt to hold them up. I was so thankful when they made panty hose, now almost everyone is going bare legs

I'm not a senior citizen, but I agree that those stockings were incredibly sexy. I would have loved being 20-30 something in that era. It was a lot sexier and classier than it is now. I think they sell them at fredericks of hollywood still.

As a pre-teen, I was on the end tail of that fashion. I use to buy cinnamon-colored stockings. Not only were my seams crooked, the eternal leg shape impression was wrinkled and twisted around my skinny legs. So glad pantyhose were introduced.

I wore them as a teen plus the garter belt to hold them up.I didn't wear them too long though because they came from an aunt that gave me all her highheels .She switched to non seam hose so my Mom bought me them.Of course I always got a run and expect my aunt did too,hence no more hand me downs

I always wanted some of those, I think they were very sexy. But I never had to wear them or keep them straight. I do not remember if Mom had them.

Not only the sexy seams.....remember "clocks" on our nylons in the early - mid 50s?

A couple of times, but then they came out with the no seams & I switched.
