I was wondering if you are returning from a international

deployment back to US

do you still have to clear US customs?

how that handle?

(what got me curious is that i just watched Carrier on PBS recently and it made me wonder what if they still have to go

US customs or not (even though they are on a US military ship already

    Yes, even on the subs they have to clear customs before they pull up to the pier and let people off the boat.

    Yes, everyone has to fill out a customs declaration. They bring customs officers out to the ship before you dock. Usually the Chiefs and Officers conducted spot inspections. Mostly they were looking for pirated software and music discs.

    They bring the drug dogs out too when coming back from Asia.

    Customs duty is performed by U.S. military personnel before you even leave the country you're stationed in.

    Yes, it's always been that way. Being a military ship has nothing to do with anything.
