Would anyone know as to why Golden Point extra time was not allowed in last nights City Vs Country match?

I know after 80mins & scores are level it shows a great game of Rugby League between 2 sides, but it also would been nice to see an outright winner.

The match was played under international rules would be my best guess. I'm pretty sure that golden point was introduced by the NRL into our comp because the ladder would just get too complicated at the end of the season with heaps of draws and that, so that would mean that golden point isn't a part of international rules. But I agree with you, it would have been nice to have an outright winner.

there has neva been golden point.. city vs country is about representing where ur from with pride & u either are equally matched or winner/loser.. theres no comp points to play 4 so its a fair honest game this way

no a draw was fine, the game didnt mean much just tradition so why should the players have to kill them selves for a win it was a draw both teams were as good as each other .we dont need players risking injury for a win that wont get you anything. its a one off game played for the tradition and maybey a couple of origin spots so a draw was the perfect result hey its was the first draw since 1933 i think channel nine said so that was a great result and a great game .

The players have to back up for their clubs, some of them the next day so playing Golden point they would've been stuffed.

THE REASON I THINK IS BECAUSE PLAYERS HAD TO BACK UP THE NEXT DAY AND THE CITY V COUNTRY IS A FAIR MATCH NO COMP POINTS

AND THE GONG ISNT A COW PADDOCK **** HOLE

dont know the answer to that one,, guess the people running the game don't have much of an idea either. otherwise there would have been a golden point.

City vs. Country is a pointless match, the sooner its over the better.

as the games are played in the cow paddocks(yes the gong is cow paddocks) country bumpkins tend to riot a bit more than the city locals

I thought it unfair, but there's always someone comes up with a reason why it happens. Those reasons never satisfy me, I'd like to see it changed.

i think its because players had to back up the night after and sunday... most players had to back up tonight.. that might be why, if its not i dont know why they didnt have goldent point.. mayb coz its just a game to try out for nsw i dunno
