pasta/dough machine problems?
I have an Osrow X700, but do not have the instruction book or a decent recipe for basic pasta dough. I've checked allrecipes.com, food network.com & bbc.com all of them have recipes for machines with rollers. This machine does not. I cannot find the company that made the Osrow online.
if anyone has this machine or even remembers it, please help me.
And no comments on how I should just buy pasta or a newer machine for that is not an option at this time.
I cannot use a rolling pin due to the machine's funnel for the shapes would just mush everything back together.
I don't have a camera so no picture, but basiclly this is a mixer (put items in top, close lid) with 2 options: mix & extrude. There are many attchments for the different shapes/types (hard discs) that you have to screw onto the front. The dough comes out and you must cut it and place it somewhere to dry. We used this machine when I was a child & the pasta would take four hours to dry enough to cook. The measuring cup tells you how much water, oil & egg to put in, but the pasta just won't come out easily. I'm wondering if my machine is busted or if I'm missing a small part.

I do not know the Osrow machine. I tried getting a picture off the web with no results and it seems many people have a problem with not having recipes et. al.
Basic Pasta is no more than water and flour. Some people add eggs to it and they both work well. Simply put a medium amount of flour on a flat surface - a good size mound - then make a well in the mound and add a little water, olive oil (eggs if you want) starting from the center using a fork slowly incorporate the liquid into the flour adding more liguid as needed to get to a dough that is soft and elastic kneed the dough until workable - usually five minutes of kneeding will work. Or you can use a food processor to do the hard stuff.
As far as the machine if you could try to describe it I can maybe help with the question better. Other wise maybe try to google or yahoo search for Osrow. Hope this helps.

Could you use a rolling pin for the steps that require a machine with rollers?
*edit*
I think I had a "Play-doh" machine just like that when I was a kid...
