I conceal them with water, changing the water after approximately 12 hours. the sole element it rather is removed from the potatoes is the exterior starch - no longer lots loss - I positioned them in water and then substitute it right now besides even whilst cooking right now away. I consistently theory this a sturdy element to do. i'm English.

Grrr...Later I will. I need to make a potato salad for 30 people for tomorrow's meal. I hate prep work!

I don't make a single potato dish that requires peeling. We leave them on for mashed, potato salad, oven roasted, and scalloped. (We don't make fries at home.)

However, at Thanksgiving and Christmas, Mr. Maryn is in charge of the potatoes, and he peels them--and is smart enough not to complain when he gets the skins the rest of the year.

  • I have done this. After peeling place in water (make sure they are covered completely) and keep in frig until ready for use. The cold water will keep them from turning brown and also keep them firm.

No, I only have one potato left. I'll probably end up with fish fingers with pasta and sauce with sweetcorn. That's the early favourite anyway. I ought to phone my mum and ask if she's got any spare in her garden
