Boston would beat Lakers-- they still have 2 stud players compared to just Gasol for the Lakers. Without Kobe you could almost say Gasol was back on the Griz.
I think Spurs would still have a shot. They have a lot of quality role players who fill into all spots very easily and nicely. It would probably be a 7 game series with this match up.

Boston I think would pull that out...because the whole team is talented...Garnett was just the missing link to put them over the top...Remember they still can win with Paul P. LA without Kobe is a loss across the board.
Det vs Spurs...this is kinda tuff but I think that the Spurs can pull it out with Duncan..dat all

Don't you remember the Rockets in the semis last year against the Lakers. When they were without Yao and T-Mac everybody had that series done and yet it became the lakers most competitive series. The great teams can rise up without their great players just not for long. The Cavs played a game last year without LBJ and Mo and they only lost by one point. I agree with the suns being different without nash. I somewhat agree with the Mavs statement, but they have other players that are just below all star level(Terry. Howard, Marion, Kidd). The Magic would definitely suffer because they are a tissue paper soft team without superman. You forgot to add the nuggets, but melo is playing out of his mind now so they would be hurt. I'm guessing you're a bias Lakers fan. Without Kobe-- Fisher isn't a great leader, he has exp. it's different. Lamar is up and down. Ron is a good defender, but if he starts jacking up threes like in houston, that will ruin the offense. Bynum needs Kobe for him to get better. he still has a lot of potential, but he was lost in the playoffs last year. Pau Gasol is a beast and one of the best PF in the league so they would definitely have to run their offense through him. Also the laker bench is all right, but not spectacular. I at least like it that you take pride in your team, but i bet you can't even figure out which one of those teams you mentioned in my team.

Boston with no Garentt!
The Boston won 7 games and lost 2 without Garnett!
Pistons with no Billups!
The Pistons are very good team even without him!

Spurs will win!
Spurs have the best bench in the NBA and a back up for Tim Duncan..
Lakers- trash without Kobe
Boston- can barely get past da Hawks. Imagine without KG, The Defensive Player of 08.
Detroit- Might have a chance, but they dont have the same momentum they had 2 years ago.

Boston vs Lakers (no garnett, no kobe?) - obviously the Celtics... that's what you get for having 3 all stars on your team.
Detriot vs Spurs (no billups, no duncan?) - Detriot, they got Wallace, Prince, Hamilton... etc

boston without garnett agaisnt lakers without kobe? i cant even call that, boston would be lost and the lakers... well to think about it i think boston would win. without kobe they wont put up much so i take boston.
spurs without duncan is like a rap song without drums. theyll lose hard. i take detroit on that 1..

i think out of the 4 teams, detroit will win even if no billups. they are a very good defensive team, a deep bench and a couple more of stars (wallace and rip). but the best team for me without a star is the bobcats, w/o richardson, they still have felton and okafor, and larry brown would be their next coach, and brown is capable of transforming a weak team into a contender, just like what he did to '01 sixers and the '04 pistons.

i would say the Lakers would win the first matchup, they have a ton of depth, and a decent coach to make the adjustments needed.
i honestly think Detroit could lose any single member of its starting lineup and still win a series. the bench players are really tough minded players, and seem to be able to do what is expected of them. i think the thing that truly makes Detroit so good, is the teamwork, and the tough attitude of the players on the team. very solid team, they are getting a bit old now, but whoever built it truly deserves some credit.
by the way, i am not a fan of any of these teams. sorry if that sounded biased.
