having baby with dogs, new home,& need list!?

I own a rottweiler, german shepherd, pitbull, and doberman pinscher-all under 9 weeks old right now. I also own a mini dachshund and am moving to Terre Haute IN to a house with 3 bedrooms , 2 bathrooms, and a kitchen, basement, living room, and family room. 8ft tall chain link fence in yard, large yard, shed in back, garage on the side. Small porch on the front of the house. I want to start a family soon, hopefully get pregnant in the next two months. MY fiance and I are so happy together and feel its time to start this. I cant wait. What are some things I will need for a baby? i mean, we have the basic things on the list, but i need some more detailed things, or can you link me to a list itd be great!

Update:

The dogs are NOT unpredictable...ANY dog can be dangerous, not the breeds I picked alone. And My dogs aren't going to be around my child ALONE EVER. I wouldnt allow ANY dog to be around a child ALONE for ANY amount of time. I didnt ask for your opinion on the dogs, just a list of supplies or extra thing i will need. and our house isnt going to be small, its a big house.

Update 2:

My dogs are going to be out alot too, not like outside in a pen, i mean like at the weight pulling practice site or practiving for show ring and of coarse OCO. on command obedience. The best that is available! The dogs will be VERY well trained and have thier own seperate crates inside, not that they will be in those alot, but just when i need my time or if they are acting up. Definately no more than an hour or so. The baby will be in our room the first couple months also, i know it shouldnt be like that but it is! LOL

Update 3:

Ok, people, the 4 dogs WILL be in training like everyday! For all of the things i said! They are already learning well and like i said my child will never be left alone. Also, if I have to , my cousin who is a workout hollic can take one or two for a walk in the morning , i am for sure walking the dogs once a day at least, when they arent in training. Also, my fiance will walk them too.and our friends , they all love the dogs and cant wait to help us raise/train them

Update 4:

I have owner pitbull/rotts/& German shepherd before. not doby's though. I have owned like around 10 dogs in my life, and had litters and all that good stuff. And I would take my baby brother on walks in his stroller with my last dog a lab/shepherd mix named Capone. he was great with kids.

    Medical Supplies

    · thermometer - I prefer digital thermometers over mercury ones.

    · infant ibuprofen, Tylenol, or both - You don't want to be running to the drugstore when your child is sick.

    · nail clippers - the scissor kind is worthless, get small clippers that look like adult ones

    Changing Supplies

    · small changing pads

    · diapers - don't stock up on too many newborn diapers because most babies don't stay small for long. I love the White Cloud brand at Wal-mart. Buy the big box it's cheaper per diaper.

    · wipes -

    · changing table or countoured changing pad and a cover that can sit on top of a dresser

    Bath Supplies

    · bath towel - buy two with hoods

    · bath toys - plus a plastic cup for rinsing and pouring

    · washcloths

    · baby soap and shampoo or body wash

    · baby lotion

    · desitin

    · soft brush

    · infant bath tub or sling - I preferred the sling because the tubs are so hard to store

Feeding Supplies · bottles - 1 or 2 are nice even if you plan on breastfeeding

    · binkie

    · burp clothes - need 4 to 6 or more if your baby has reflux

    · breast pads - actually for Mom. I recommend Lansinoh brand

    · formula

    · breast pump - I found hand pumps worked better than electric.

you can wait until your baby is four months old before buying these items · plastic bibs - get a small one that fits the baby's neck

    · baby spoons - plastic coated ones are the best

    · soft brush for scrubbing babies head while bathing - this prevents cradle-cap

    Sleeping Essentials

    · crib

    - crib sheets

    -mobile

    · receiving blankets - buy 4 to 6 because babies need to be wrapped up when they are first born

    · sheets - at least two for when your baby poops or throws up on one

    Car Basics

    · infant car seat

    · sun screen for the car window

    Clothing

    · clothes - don't buy too many you will receive a lot of 0-3 month clothes at your baby shower. If you get too many which you probably will take them back and buy a bigger size. Figure out how old your child will be the next time the season comes around and buy that size.

    · pajamas - buy lots of these, 4 to 6 pairs, because they are easy to change and keep your newborn warm

    · onesies

    · socks - your going to need lots of these, because you wouldnt believe how many you will lose cause the come off lol

    Toys and Board Books

    · teething rings

    · toys with bright colors and music

    · balls

    · blocks

    · rubber toys for chewing

    · soft toys for cuddling

    · board books - not paper

    Great extras

    · bounce chair

    · swing - some children love these and some don't

    · baby carrier - I used to take mine to the grocery store and carry my baby in it so I had my hands free.

    · stroller - I used to take my son on walks for exercise.

    · bassinet - this is nice because you can keep the baby closer for the first month

    · rocking chair - babies love the rocking motion

The best way to find everything you need is to register for gifts at Babys R Us. They have a very good list of everything. The only suggestion I have is to make sure there is always some way for your dogs to get plenty of exercise after the baby comes. You and your fiance are going to be so tired so maybe hire a dog walker for the first few months. I have a pit myself and they are very active and need tons of exercise to be well behaved. I am hoping this is not your first dogs of these breeds bc although I agree the dogs temperment depend on the owner a higher degree of responsibility is required for these breeds. Good Luck and happy family growing.

At the top of your "needs" list should be the words "get rid of the dogs!" If they were full-grown animals you had for years, I wouldn't be saying this. But these are puppies, and it will take months to train them to behave properly. Once you have a baby, your days will be largely consumed by your child, and you will not have enough time to give the dogs the training (or even the love) they require to be happy, healthy animals. Before you get overly attached to them, you should consider finding homes for at least three of them. One or two would be more than enough to have around with a new baby in the house.

first of all if your dogs are trained they will be great with your children dont get rid of them until you sense a proble!!!! I have a 7 week old baby and two dogs (siberian husky and terrier) they love the baby...The siberian husky sleeps next to her crib every night and the terrier sleeps in the rocking chair....As much as they want to lick the baby dont let them do that too soon...Wait until your child is at least crawling...Email me I will give you a list of needs trust me i know...im still discovering needs everyday

sounds like you have a few too many dogs for a small house, especialy with the baby on the way theres no way you can care for eevryone, get rid of a few, not saying take them completely out of your life, im sure you love them, and haveing a doggie around can be a great experiance for a growing infant :)

The first thing you will need for your new baby is security, this would not be possible, whilst living in the same house as a selection of the most unpredictable dogs. Your approach is absolutely senceless, wreckless, and inconsiderate in my view and I would suggest that you do not do it., for the sake of the new born child.

Having a baby? Get rid of the dogs, especailly the rottie n pitbull! If you are wanting to start a family, your kids need to be safe. Dogs are unpredictable and they could do anything to your kids! I am not saying this as a dog hater - i love all animals, but your kids need to be protected

Cheers for the thumbs down like, but you did ask!!!

Wow looks like your going to have your hands full LOL, a bunch of fur babies and a human baby LOL I have a 11 month old, 2 1/2 year old and 5 year old and 1 fur baby LOL Well the things you need for a human baby since you have the fur baby thing down pat LOL is:

    nasal aspirator

"snuggly" or baby sling (these are so great, you could get stuff done while carrying the baby LOL and have your hands free to tend to your dogs LOL)

place for your baby to sleep (crib or bassinette)

    car seat

stroller or carriage (For a newborn, you'll want a stroller that reclines to almost flat — babies shouldn't be propped upright for long, until they're about 3 months old or until they've developed stronger neck muscles)

diapers (you'll go through a ton of these make sure you throw them away properly our pup tries to get ahold of our baby's used ones and tries to tear them up LOL) don't stock up on too many newborn diapers because most babies don't stay small for long, my babies only used one pack of newborn then went right up to size 1-2 diapers.

    nail scissors

    diaper rash ointment

baby wipes (you could even use these on your fur babies faces LOL)

    bibs

10 to 12 bottles with nipples (if not breast feeding)

formula (if your not breast feeding I go through 1 case a week at 40.00 a week)

    bottle warmer

breast pump (if breast feeding of course sort of obvious you don't need one if you are bottle feeding LOL)

    bottle washing brush

    breast feeding pillow (if breastfeeding)

    towels and washcloths

    cotton balls and cotton swabs

    baby shampoo

    baby lotion

    baby soap

    baby comb and brush

    infant bath tub

Babies outgrow newborn sizes quickly, so buy big — at least three months ahead. But do choose one or two newborn outfits that you love just for that lift of dressing your new baby in an outfit you consider totally adorable. One-piece outfits (4-7): One-piece bodysuits (often called "onesies") dramatically simplify dressing. Look for clothes made in a soft fabric with wide head openings and loose-fitting ankle and leg cuffs. Also look for finished seams (so there are no rough or scratchy parts), and avoid zippers (which can pinch tender skin).Cotton shirts (4-7): Choose soft shirts, preferably with snaps at the neck for easier fitting. Undershirts are good for layering and will also protect your newborn's skin from any seams or roughness in his outer garments. Choose undershirts that snap under the crotch so they don't ride up.

Sweater or jacket (1): Most babies don't like having clothes pulled over their heads, so warm up your baby with a sweater or jacket that buttons down the front.Fleecewear or snowsuits: If you have a winter baby, we recommend finding a one-piece fleece suit to keep him warm on your outings.Socks and booties (4-7): Stores may sell shoes for newborns, but you don't want them for the simple reason that your baby isn't walking. So warm your baby's feet in socks or booties.Cap or bonnet (1-3): You'll want a broad-brimmed hat for a summer baby, or a soft, warm hat that covers the ears for a winter baby.

Bedding: Buy at least two sets of crib sheets to cut down on laundry panic. You should save most quilts and blankets for out-of-the-crib cuddling, though, as soft bedding poses a potential SIDS risk.

    Extras:

Infant swing: Some parents find a battery-powered infant swing to be a godsend. The swing's soothing back-and-forth motion can calm a cranky infant and buy you time to do something else with your hands.

Bouncy seat: Strap your baby into a bouncy seat, propped at a 45-degree angle, and he can see the world. It's designed to jiggle and soothe your baby.

Windup music box: Music will soothe and delight your baby, no matter how young. Wind up one of these every time you put your baby down and you'll help train him to sleep.

Sound machine: The sound of waves crashing or rain falling can soothe a crying baby and lull him into dreamland. These electronic wonders also work on adults desperate for some shuteye.

Mobile: Hang one of these over your baby's bed and you'll produce long hours of entertainment for him. A newborn can see high-contrast black-and-white images, and watching them drift overhead will fascinate and soothe him. Some mobiles come with interchangeable primary-colored panels for an older baby.

Baby monitor: A baby monitor helps you keep tabs on your baby in one room while you do whatever you have to in another. It's most suitable for those who live in bigger houses with bedrooms on a separate floor.

Nightlight: One of these inexpensive lights will allow you to get through nighttime feedings and diaper changes without having to switch on a light and completely awaken your sleepy baby (and yourself).

    For moms:

Nursing bras (2-4): Because pregnancy changes the size and shape of your breasts, it pays to buy nursing bras from a store or catalog that takes returns. For comfort, buy 100 percent cotton without underwires. Some nursing bras unhook from the strap and others unsnap between the cups. You may want to try a couple of styles to see which you like best.

Nursing pads (disposable or washable): Inserting two of these in your bra can keep your shirts dry between feedings. Like diapers, pads come in both cloth and disposable styles. In disposables, look for pads with a self-stick strip. Cloth pads are usually made of flannel and need frequent washing.

Maxi-pads and panty liners: You'll want a couple of boxes of ultra-absorbent maxi-pads. When the lochia discharge slows, usually within two or three weeks, you'll also want a couple of boxes of panty liners.

Hemorrhoid wipes and cream: Even if you didn't get hemorrhoids during pregnancy, you may discover you have them as an aftereffect of the pushing during labor.

Ice packs: If you experienced tearing during delivery, cooling ice packs will help your recovery by reducing swelling and numbing soreness.

for when your baby is over 4 months old and needs pain relief for teething:

infant ibuprofen, Tylenol, or both - You don't want to be running to the drugstore when your child is sick.

or teething tablets - These are homeopathic and great for relieving teething pain. They can be found at Wal-mart.

you can wait until your baby is four months old before buying these items · plastic bibs - get a small one that fits the baby's neck

    · baby spoons - plastic coated ones are the best

    · baby food and cereal also plain mashed potato flakes are easy to fix and cheap.

    · sippy cup - I like the ones with handles for first time drinkers

    Toys and Board Books

    · teething rings

    · toys with bright colors and music

    · balls

    · blocks

    · rubber toys for chewing

    · soft toys for cuddling

    · board books - not paper

Just gotta watch your pups with toys my pup loves going after our babies toys and my girls toys LOL yeah constant supervision but our pups loves our kids, don't mind other people saying you have to get rid of your dogs, if your pups are given the proper training, socialization and supervision they will be ok, when you leave the room take the dogs with you or put them in their crates just make sure you show them play biting is not allowed, and we never let our pup stay in the room alone with our kids, we want to add another fur baby soon after our pup is housetrained and shown the proper manners.

Well good luck, babies are a lot of work but are so worth it.
