Shouldn't communications between banks and their customers be through e-mails?

Yes, I would believe an interesting idea is bank communications through emails regardless of the troublemakers(hackers, phreakers, cryptographers, etc) out there... the placement of the emails would be good enough besides the hacks....

plus very enviromental friendly(energy.. ) , I am tired of going deaf from people that are tree huggers!

Due to the fact that emails can be hacked and that so much is involved in internet use, it has been decided in the best interest of both parties if emails did not contain personal information.

If you are in the big of a situation with a bank that you need hard copies for court, then you should set up an appointment with a bank manager and bring your lawyer along for the discussion.

It would be easier through email but I understand that it is for my protection too that they do not allow emailing of sensitive materials.

Anybody along the transmission can read it. Privacy is a concern with banking, so sending personal information via email is highly discouraged. If banks do send a communication via email, it's generally a link to a secure website that allows you to see the full communication along with your personal information.

Conversations with banks can be followed up with FAXing of documents (letters) between you and the bank. This is also a secure method of sending personal information.
