Theme Wedding: STAR WARS....I am in desparate need of ideas!?

My fiance is a huge fan so I'm going to be surprising him with some great stuff. The music for my walk down the aisle is going to be the John William's "Han Solo and the Princess" or "Across the Stars" I haven't decided yet. We're going to be entering the reception to the Main Title Theme. For the garter toss, I'm going to blindfold him then have a 501st member sit in the chair with the garter on. When he takes off the blindolfd he'll see a couple Stormtroopers and Darth Vader looming above him. I heard this is a crowd pleaser. I've gotten a groom's cake that is a replica of Darth Vader's Helmet. I'm getting members of the local 501st to roll in the wedding cake to the Imperial March. We're having cupcakes with little fondant Light Sabers on them that'll be boxed up and the gueats can take them home as favors.

Oh, I would let the guests dress up or not as they pleased. I love it...it sounds fun. What I would do is to do favors that look homespun like something Ewoks would make.

Like maybe...if you can find candy molds that are starwars...have someone make mints or chocolates and them wrap them in like a homespun material with a large weave...I would go to a fabric store for that.

There are also starwars cake molds but, I would think they are a bit childish for a wedding...but, maybe if you have your cake decorator do a white cake with flowers (that reminds you of Padame's home planet) and then try to find an Amadala/Annikin figurines for the top.

It looks like Ebay is your best bet for candy/cake molds that are star wars as many of them are discontinued.

Go for any idea you can think of! We're putting Sci Fi in our scratch-off cards (winning guest gets a gift), on his grooms cake (his World of Warcraft character), we're walking in with the Conan Theme, we have toys and games for our party favors, plus I'm wearing tennis shoes with rhimestones that match my color scheme. You can also get some alien and other things from www.orientaltrading.com. Not much sci fi stuff, but they have good prices and great free personalized things like pens and pencils and napkins

It's to bad that the Las Vegas Hilton in Vegas is keeping the Star Trek Exp on pins and needles,a bout the renewal of their contract. Their contract expires this year,a nd they are booking weddings up until 8/31 of this year. :( It's really sad. But your idea for a wedding sounds liek FUN!!!!!!!! Get a cake made in the shape of a yoda, holding a light saber (sp).

Cut the cake with a light sabre!!! You could take a plastic one, cut it open and secure a knife into it... It might make a bit of a wide cut, so I would only do it for the first cut/pictures.

Hmmm.... and you could decorate the walls with "cabonite" molds....I'm not sure about the details of how you would do this....maybe with plaster...make a bunch of molds (just portrait size) of people's faces and hands in wierd posistions....spray paint the appropriate colour and hang on walls...

Well, you have to have the entrance of the bride and groom at the reception with your attendants holding lightsabres, making an arch for you to walk through.

I think this is so cool!!! I want an invite! (jk) I think it would be cool to have a cake done like the Death Star. I've seen spherical cakes done before and they looked awesome.

i think it would be reallly fun to give everyone a real working lightsaber, as a favor.
