Yes, I understand he had the help of Coors Field for a while. But he was a steroid-free guy in the heart of the steroid era.

Just watching him now in the Cards dugout @ Coors Field, interested to hear your opinion. In my opinion he is in.

No. Those are great achievements, but he does not quite have Hall of Fame career numbers. I compare his career to like a Don Mattingly or Jose Canseco, one of the best players in the league for a few years if not the best, except he just did not sustain that level long enough. I think the problem was that maybe he got off to a late start and played in Colorado with no team success.

Impressive lifetime batting average but I'm afraid he falls into that category of the "very very good" player. The fact that he was never on a championship team doesn't help his cause either.

I'd say that if he had at least 2500 career hits and 400 plus home runs, he would have a better case for the hall. If I had a vote I'd vote yes because of his three batting titles.

Now I'm a huge Rockies fan and always have been. (Especially Andres Galarraga) However, Larry Walker isn't a HOF in this era of baseball. Unfortunately his numbers aren't as gaudy as some of his contemporaries, and yes I understand the steroid implications. And HOF voters will not overlook that he had his best years in Coors Field. Even though he has been good every where, it will be very difficult for any Rockie to be a HOFer.

not in common terms is he HOF worth, it would be extraordinary to have a Canadian born participant donning an Expos hat on induction day. by way of fact which you gotta understand adult men like Claude Raymond or Denis Boucher will by no potential make it (From the Jays, what are the probabilities of seeing Ron Ducey or Dave McKay)
