It is natural to do what we are told not to do because we are either curious or we want to show we can do what we are not suppose to do. Some people also do it out of straight defiance.

Well because the owner shouldn't put the sign there. The sign increases temptation. Maybe the passers didn't even thought about entering ot touching or reading those things untill they read the sign. That increases temptation. Like you asked "DO NOT READ this question". It increased my temptation. Hope this helps.

well... personally if there's a sign that says "do not enter", I usually don't, even if there's a swarm of police cruisers with flashing lights, SWAT in full assault gear, dozens of firearms, and yellow tape. Although I might get a weebit curious.

Is a different matter since the person has to read and process it to understand it.

If left at "do not read..." there would be an incompletion. Do not read what? The person has to finish it to know what it is referring to.

It's called curiosity, and yeah I know it killed the cat, also it's called an attractive nuisance, like leaving the keys in the ignition and walking away downtown Chicago.

bite my guesses is that they think that its not true!!?
