I been through something similar with my late grandmother. She cam down with Alzheimer's, and cannot recognize anyone. When I last saw her alive, 8 years had passed before I saw her because we lived 14 hours apart, she didn't come up, and I financially could not see her. So, it was painful having been there the last time, but she did not know I'm her granddaughter. I still to this day wonder if she knows I love her, and my father told me to put it in the Lord's hands.

I have a high predisposition to stroke due to both sides of my maternal family.

I will indeed pray for you. Stuff like this is definitely heart-breaking. Please give me an update on what happens!

Sorry I didn't see your question right away....

    I pray for your mother-in-law.

    Dear Lord,

    You know this woman's needs.

I pray in agreement with all other prayer warriors,

and ask that You go to the Father,

in petition for this woman's quality of life...

May she be saved by the grace of the Heavenly Father...

and the family see blessings poured out around them.

Comfort them, and let them know You are there for them.

    In Jesus' Name, Amen!

    I understand about strokes...

    and sometimes, my dear friend,

it appears they do not recognize certain things or people.

But the Lord put upon me years ago...

to know that there are at least periods of recognition,

if not total knowledge, where they simply cannot communicate with us.

So, I have gone on with the blind faith that the loved one, the person with the stroke, can understand... perhaps through the Holy Spirit, what I am saying... and have never treated them as though they are not there. (I do this also with Alzheimer's patients with whom I am acquainted or love.)

I have done this, with confirmation through the Lord, that this is so... and God confirms and lets me know they have heard what I have said.

So, know that God is there with them...

    and during your mother-in-law's recovery...

love her just as though you are speaking to her, through God.

May the Lord bless you and your husband, his mother, and the entire family!

    Write me, if you wish.
