ohio 97th infantry company I?

I couldn't locate any on line photos but i did find a site that offers several dozen References you may track down.

The National Archives still pictures branch at College park, Maryland has the Mathew Brady collection of civil war photographs. They number in the thousands and it is possible they have a 97th Ohio related pictures.

I go there frequently as I am a researcher. I will look in the index cards and see if there is an 97th OVI pictures.

Another source is the Ohio State Historical Society. Most Civil War veterans associations donated their papers to state historical societies as their members died off. Outside of the National Archives it is your best bet for information regrading the 97th.

They have lots of Ohio Civil War unit photos, but the odds of them having one of any particular company are unfortunately not too good.

I did a Google search for "97th OVI" and found lots of sites, so you might try that as well. Even if you don't find a photo you'll probably find plenty of interesting info.

You could always search on yahoo or google for the 97th Ohio, but personally i dont know of any.
