How do you keep yourself occupied when you are put on hold?

Hi! It varies... I announce the songs playing on the "music- while-you hold"; I critique the songs playing on the "music-while-you-hold"; I say rude things to the call-director; I watch television; I balance my checkbook; I say ruder things

to the call-director; I threaten the establishment I'm calling;

I trace the ancestry of the person who INVENTED the call-director...

Hi, Good question ! If you dont have handy an book or such try singing . It may sound silly, but i do that at times. Think of the best songs you like the most and soon you will be preoccupied , and befor you know it they will be answering you did you say something ? LoL Just place the phone on speaker and set it aside. Hope this helps except have them call you back. Mike.

I usually just doodle for a bit, then i begin to get fed up, and irratated, and begin telling the automatic womwn (who always seems to hsave the most annoying, stupid voice ever and she repeats herself over and over ' all our operators are busy please hold the line') How its taking the pee, and i am getting annoyed etc, I swear i could kill that voice women lol.

If its longer than 5 mins i hang up, i cant listen to it anymore, tell you what girl, you got the patience of a saint, after a hour i would be going crazy!

I am always put on hod for my manager he knows i hate it...... he is never busy, just does it on a purpose lol.

I make up words to the hold music and sing them while I am listening, I doodle, count the ceiling tiles, fix the toaster, bath the cats, trim my son's hair, write the next great american novel.

I walk around with the phone and clean while cursing at who ever has got me on hold. It's got to be something real important to keep me on hold more then 15 minutes.

play Guitar Hero while phone on shoulders or give phone to someone else while pretends to be in toilet and play something like a Nintendo DS while inside then go out if the person says the phone's ready.

If they have hold music, I sing with it. Otherwise, I read the paper or go through my mail, or work on some other chore while waiting.

Put the phone down, grab a soda, pick up the phone, and have something to drink.

I either doodle or peruse the internet. Just stick 'em on speaker and pick up when they finally get to me.
