Can you help me create a story?

Question

I've done this once before with mixed results, and want to try it again. The idea is to get a story going.  The first person to respond can write about whatever they want, and then the second person will pick up the story where the first left off, and so on and so forth.

I only ask that no one includes inappropriate materials or profanity. Lets keep this show PG, if you please.

It was deathly quiet on the wharf that day.  I did my usual circuit. I peered into the murky waters lapping up against the ancient brickwork and then leisurely strolled to the end of the quay to admire the orange ball of the sun as it rose from the horizon. But it wasn't the same, the sea-gulls were uncharacteristically quiet and the background sound of stevedore's muffled shouts was missing.  I suddenly found myself afraid.

An extremely large shape was circling in the water below. A fish? A shark? I did not know.  Sounds like a dolphin, a whale - filled the air.  Vibrations were felt - coming from the water - and traveling through the wood of the pier.

i just stood their and did not move but i looked behind me. nothing seemed different but then in the dark shadow i saw it. a little distance from me - it did not move but just looked in my direction! i stiffened up and said nothing. then after a while it turned and and went for a while, it looked back then went on. 
i followed it, i don't know why but i thought i should!

i went past a dark forest. i just keeped following...
