I don't get hot water in my apartment, what can I do?
We get about 5 min. of hot water a day if that. We can barely shower. The land lord doesn't like us or take our complaints. What should we do?

unfortunatly your only option may be to move.
you can try looking into local laws in the area, it may be agienst the law to offer housing without adequate utilities. Also if you are in a lease check to see if your lease has anything in it that can apply to bad mangement.
i would recommend moving though, asap. the other options may be expensive and time comsuming

There are about 4 options I can come up with and they are:
Option #1-I would call the housing authority and have them come over and take a look at the situation.
If they discover a problem, they will notify the landlord and force him to repair the water problem or face some severe fines.
Option #2- Judge Judy. She's a no non-sense kind of judge. I'm sure she will make him fix the problem and or pay.
Option #3- Call your own plumber, pay for the repairs and deduct it from the following months rent.
Option# 4- Move out. Get a better place to live. Who needs the stress and aggravation. Give him 30 days notice. He cannot force you to live in an apartment that doesn't have hot water.
P.S.

You have the right to hot water and heat. Contact your local housing authority. Also notify your landlord in a letter and send it return receipt so you have proof of your complaint. If you don't have a lease, give 30 days notice and move.

It's you hot water tank, tell the landlord. And by the way Suzanne S, just because your relatives live in a 3rd world country, is their problem. They are probably still throwing spears and cooking on a camp fire, tell them to buck-up and deal with it licorice stick
