Food For Healthy Hair
Eating a healthy, well-balanced diet is important for healthy hair. There are certain specific foods that are important for healthy hair. Your diet should consist of the following foods if you want your hair to look healthy and shine.
Protein: Is found meat, fish, poultry, milk, eggs, cheese, yogurt, sunflower seeds etc.
Vitamin A: Is found in butter, eggs, milk, carrots, tomatoes, oily fish, dark green leafy vegetables, apricots etc.
Vitamin B: Found in milk, eggs, wholegrain cereals, bread, wheat germs, nuts, soya beans, poultry, fish, meat etc.
Vitamin D: Sunlight, fish liver oils, oily fish, milk and eggs etc.
Vitamin C: Found in blackcurrant, green peppers, citrus fruits, bananas, avocados, artichokes, leafy green vegetables etc.
Vitamin E: Found wheat germ, peanuts, vegetable oils, pulses, green leafy vegetables etc.
Iron: Found spinach, cockles, liver, kidneys, pulses, lentils, beans, peas, dried fruit etc.
Calcium: Found cheese, nuts, eggs, milk, yogurt, sardines, root vegetables etc.
Iodine: Found in seafood, dried kelp, iodized salt etc.
Sulphur: Found eggs, meat, cheese, diary products etc.
Drink coconut water at least twice a week, it is good for your skin, digestive system and does wonders to your hair.
also when you shampoo it make sure to ALWAYS condition it! The shampoo splits the hair and the conditioner renews it. Also take some time away from the heating tools. One day you could scrunch your hair with gel and hair spray and the next you can straighten it. Dont over do the hot tools though!! Also always use a frizz minimizer, I prefer the frizz diffuser from the Pantene Pro v Restoratives collection. Also Pantene has the best shampoo/conditioner. It also makes hair smooth/healthy/shiny looking!! Hope I helped!! Good luck =)

As for growing hair, everyone's grows a different pace. You just kind of have to be patient with it. My philosophy is "It's just hair" and so far, it's led me down some pretty interesting and some not so great roads, style-wise. But I always end up pretty much back where I started, whether it be color or length.
One thing I can say with confidence is: if you don't like how it is, cut it. IT WILL GROW BACK. Meanwhile, you can walk around feeling a little different and if nothing else, it gives you something to talk about. "Hey, haven't seen you in awhile, like my new haircut?" I go about six to ten months of growing my hair out and then, just when it gets almost to my shoulders, I chop it all off again, very short. But getting it trimmed every month or so will help it look healthy, as it takes off the dead and split ends. It will also make your hair look fuller to get the ends healthy.
Don't wash it every day. Doesn't mean you can't shower, just skip washing your hair. The natural oils need a chance to disperse. Don't use a lot of product in it to keep it looking natural and light.
Use a dryer sheet to calm frizz and fly-a-ways. Just gently press it over your hair and you'll be frizz free and your hair will smell great!
Once every 3 months, use a deep-conditioning treatment. You can buy the VO5 ones or use a homemade one. (I hear 1 egg, 1/2 cup of mayo and 2 tbsp olive oil can make a great conditioning treatment.)
Good luck and many good hair days!

1. How to keep it healthy: Use the right kind of shampoo, conditioner. Example if you have dry or damaged hair, use shampoo for dry/damaged hair because it really matters!
2. How to reduce poofiness: While drying your hair, brush it at the same time! If you can't do it at the same time, stop and brush, then dry some more, then stop and brush...It will make your hair not poofy.
3. Have you ever heard of Sunsilk creme? Use the right one for your hair! (Read directions on the bottle)
4. Use hairspray or mousse if your hair gets "staticky"

Well, if u wont ur hair long, like me, u have 2 trim it every 2 months. If u r just letting it grow, it starts 2 grow weird, different colored, unhealthy hair. My hair stylist told me tht.
If u r white, wash ur hair every other day. Not every day. (Too too much!) Not every like 3 days (way 2 less!) Use shampoo and conditioner in the shower, wash ur hair 1-2 times. If u r black, wash ur hair every week & a half, with no water! Just shampoo! If u r a mixture of both, wash ur hair every 3 days.

there are lots of things that can maximize the potential of your hair growing cycle but it is absolute folly to imagine that you can go to bed one night with shoulder length hair and the next day wake up with a new inch of growth.
There are some very rare exceptions, but most hair on most people is genetically programmed to grow a maximum of 6 inches a year.
The right vitamins and minerals play a major role in keeping your hair healthy. Any nutritional deficiencies can lead to thinning hair or even total baldness.
It is a well known fact that an under active thyroid can result in frizzy or brittle hair while an overactive thyroid turn hair greasy and limp.
The bottom line to this thread is that your hair ultimately reflects the overall condition of your body. If your body is healthy and well nourished, your hair will be your shining glory.
If you are having any health problems or suffering from any nutritional deficiencies, your hair may stop growing or show damage.
If your body is in good health, you can maximize your genetic growth cycle through taking the proper blend of amino acids and B-vitamins.
It is also important to include B-6, biotin, Inositol and folic acid in the supplemental program. It has been found that certain minerals including magnesium, sulfur, silica and zinc are also very important toward maintaining healthy hair.
Beta-carotene is also essential to hair growth. This is because it is converted to vitamin A as the body needs it, helps maintain normal growth and bone development, protective sheathing around nerve fibers, as well as promoting healthy skin, hair and nails.
Beta-carotene is found in green and yellow vegetables and fruits.
Since hair is protein, a diet that is too low in protein may cause some thinning in hair or a retardation in the growth cycle. The converse is true, If you eat a protein-rich diet it will often result in improved hair growth.
Some nutritional experts suggest the dietary utilization of calves liver, brewer's yeast, wheat germ and a daily dose of two tablespoons of granulated lecithin to maximize hair growth, strength and beauty.
Other good food sources for protein include fish, eggs, beans and yogurt. Soy protein has also been found to be helpful in stimulating hair growth.
One study of the results of soy on the hair found that it not only strengthened the hair but caused it to grow. A great source of soy is tofu.
Eat right, exercise, reduce stress, rest, gets lots of sleep and your are well on your way to maximizing your hair growth potential.
You can either take a good supplement that contains the necessary vitamins and minerals or you can make up your own formula.
Here are some other hair growing tips:
Eliminate or cut back on smoking, caffeine and carbonated sodas which weaken the body and block maximum hair growing potential.
Eat a healthy diet. Avoid foods that are high in sugar or fat.
Treat your hair like a piece of fine old lace. Treat it carefully avoiding any unnecessary brushing, combing or handling.
Avoid use of hot water, hot blow dryers or other hair care tools that may stress the hair.
Have a weekly scalp massage to provide stimulation to the hair follicles.
Do a series of ongoing hot oil treatments to protect the hair's shaft.
Have regular trims to eliminate split ends and allow the hair to look and feel healthier.
Get plenty of rest and sleep to allow your body to grow hair.

trust me, my hair got so damaged and overprocessed i had to cut it short and let it re grow.
Here's some tips Ive accumulated over the years from various places.
* Don't use heat. That means blowdryers, flat irons, and curling irons.
If you need to, use a heat protectant spray.
*Deep condition.
You can get all kinds of conditioning, or hot oil treatments at salons, but I just buy a store bought deep conditioner.
They say to use it once a week, if you have dry hair like me, i do it every 3 days.
*Get your hair trimmed every few weeks.
Not very much, just about half an inch every month-6 weeks.
It will get rid of split ends and help hair grow faster and better.
*MOISTURIZE YOUR SCALP! It's true, good hair does start at the scalp.
I use my regular shampoo. and a dandruff conditioner. I don't have dandruff but its made specifically to moisturize your scalp.
*DON'T COLOR! I've colored my hair many times, and no matter how much they say it "conditions" on the box..it will RUIN your hair.
*If you need a quick shine, coat your hair in extra virgin olive oil and wrap it in a towel for 15 minutes, then rinse out.
*Don't use alot of products.
Hairspray, gel, mousse.
It weighs down your hair makes it brittle, even if you rinse it out.
*Avoid ponytails whenever possible.
They just break your hair.
If you need to keep hair out of your face or off your neck, try putting it all in a loosely tied bandana.
*Depending on your hair type..if it's oily, wash every day.
But over washing takes out the natural oils, if your hair gets greasy, try adding some baby powder to your scalp and brushing it through, it will help..
*Take vitamins. A multivitamin will keep good hair and nails.
* EAT FRUITS AND VEGGIES!!!
I HOPE ALL THIS HELPS!
It's just some info i've gained through years of damaged hair.

well, its like this. .. typically hair grows about 1/2 inch a month..now if you want healtheir hair there are some rememdies..
1. stop using cheap over the market shampoos ..they are filled with water and wax.. you need good professional shampoos with lots of protien in it..like the redken extreme line.
2. try scalp massages. this stimulates your blood and keeps yor oxygen in the head flowing nicely...creating healthier hair and scalp.
3. keep regular hair trims about every 8 weeks at least... kill the dead ends.
4. take vitamins, eat healthy foods and drink plenty of water...if the inside is healthy it will show on the outside.
5. check you water at home...you may need a filter...
6. try a clarifying shampoo, maybe environmental things is ruining your hair like, smoking and medications...
good luck

Massage small amounts of fresh or canned coconut milk into the scalp and keep overnight if possible or at least for a few hours. Every time I go to my hairdresser she tells me I have beautiful healthy hair and inorder to keep it that way I need to brush everytime I see a hair brush. So if you go into your bathroom and you see your brush/comb. Brush your hair! it sounds kinda weired but it keeps your hair practicly knot free and keeps it looking healthy. And of course, shampoo daily!
