Being in the military reserves and joining a federal agency...?

How does it work if you are in the reserves or national guard and you want to join a federal agency. I want to join the FBI or DEA, and I was told that the DEA will want to move you. What if there are no openings in the area for the reserves? Are you out of luck or will they work with you? Who would know more about it, law enforcement recruiters or military ones.

When I interned with the state police, there were guys that had to move across the state for the police, but had still had to go back to their original military bases. That would obviously be a problem if you are talking about a country instead. Thanks.

They are required by federal law to give you time off for military reserve commitments. They are not required by law to make it convenient for you. You will go where you are needed.

What you did at age 14 should not be a part of your public files. If you can pass the ASVAT Test and the physical exam there should be no reason that you can not serve your country. If you want a federal or military job, be aware that the cut off age is 35.

It sounds like another case of "don't ask don't tell".
