Yes, there is a program called Idump. It takes all the files from your ipod and dumps them onto your computer. Just go to downloads.com and download idump, and from there you will get instructions on what to do.
hope i helped!

The last time I plugged my iPod in after I'd lost files a message came up and said that there were files on my iPod that weren't on my computer and asked if I'd like to copy them back to my computer, the same should apply to photos.
Alternatively, when you plug your iPod into your computer go into 'My Computer' and the iPod should show up as 'Removable Disk' or some other name, but it will be in the My Computer folder. If you click on the folder you should be able to see the files as normal documents and you can copy and paste them back onto your computer.

Nope same thing happened to me but with the songs instead
next time you should burn the photos (and songs) on a cd for you could have all you stuff there if the computer breaks
I hope i helped :-]

well maybe i think because hook up the charging wire to iTunes and then look up some stuff i think maybe. Other than that no I don't even think that that theory would be any good.
