Does this book sound interesting?

Question

I'm working on a story. Fantasy books seem to be the trend at the moment, and my story isn't a fantasy one involving vampires and wizards but would you read it anyway?

It's about an older boy who befriends a younger boy. The story is told through the younger boy's perspective, but is really about the life of the older boy and how he abuses drugs to escape from his problems - his father's death, coming out to his mother, etc. As the younger boy tells the story of his friend, he grows up and experiments along with the older boy and learns from the older boy life lessons he doesn't learn from his neglecting parents and absent older brother.

To me it sounds crazy but I'm more into realistic fantasy so depending on how the elf, werewolf, and vampires act it has potential to be very good.

yeah sound brilliant, i think it does kinda sound like a fantasy anyway or it could? the imagination of a child? growing up and experimenting with hallucinogenic drugs? could be as surreal as you wanted it to be :)

and personally i'm not into the wizards book with mystical creatures and such
so i'd pick yours any day!

Yeah, I would definitely read it, it doesn't sound like any other book i've seen or read.  i think it would be really popular
