Apartment searching +fiance with bad credit?
Well, my finance and i want to get an apartment, the problem is he has horrible credit, but i have good. We want to move to florida, and i was wondering, if i just apply for the 1 bedroom apartment, and not even put him on the application, but he still moves in, do you think that matters?
just to answer a few of the peoples concerns.... he has horrible credit becuase he had credit card bills and college loans and he had an accident and broke his femur and it took him a year to re-learn how to walk. in that time he lost his job becuase he couldntwalk, and has since been trying to get back on his feet to get everything worked out.... and i can afford the apartment on my own. I make enough money. Now without him it'll be less sepnding money, but i could deff. survive on my own....
and thanks for the responces everyone!

Of course it matters. Most leases ask for the names of all occupants, even if he doesn't sign the lease. If you are the only signer, you will have to make enough money to pay the whole rent each month, and your prospective landlord is sure to check your credit and your job. I'm getting personal, but why do you want to marry someone with horrible credit, unless you can see progress monthly with his attempts to make it better and pay it off. If you marry, you may find yourself harassed to pay off debts that weren't yours.

Depends on the rental management's guidelines in their lease. Technically everyone that is living in the apartment should be named on the lease, but oftentimes people will just get the lease in their name and others move in. Any and everything that goes on in the apartment (maintenance, lockouts, etc.) would have to be taken care of by you since you would be the only one named on the lease.

The $a hundred fee ought to actual be refunded, and that is okay to provide up fee on that, on the grounds that money did no longer easily purchase something. You have been paying them to hold the home for you, and that they did no longer. yet, the $60 went to the credit verify employer, and the credit verify employer achieved their activity as promised. it ought to be unlawful to provide up fee on that, because of the fact the home complicated would be out that quantity of money. yet, for $60, the administration enterprise ought to only pay it and be executed with it. in case you have already contacted the administration and that they've not back your call or given you the information you needed, i'd probably wait and spot what happens.

It will definitely matter if, and of course we hope this doesn't occur, you two break up. Your name will be on the lease and you will bear full responsibility for paying the rent, until the lease expires.
