Looking for a camera which brand is bettter Nikon or Canon 8 to 10 mpx.... Why?

Both camera's are awesome. I prefer Canon, but it's a hoop shoot as to the best camera.

I would consider where you are shooting, indoors, outdoors, or both. Will you be taking still shots or action shots. ie. kids sporting events and stufff like that or mainly family get togethers and portrait photos.

If you are taking alot of action type photos, the best camera that is not very expensive would be the Canon Rebel XT, it's an D-SLR with 8mp and it works very well in almost any situation.

Although the Nikon d-40x is also a steal at the price, but it's around 550.00 bucks.

If your not getting a D-SLR I recomend a canon, only becuase the have much lower noise levels in low light situations than the nikons.

In the D-SLR catagory, both are comparable.
