I'm a contractor for a corporation and they did not have me fill out a W9?

Are corporations supposed to have you fill out a W9 Form? I am a contractor and they said I am supposed to do my own taxes. Is this legal?

If you have your own company, then you do your own taxes. If you are an employee of the corporation, then you earn a salary and they take out your taxes.

if you are not a w-2 employee then you are a 1099 contractor and should fill out a w-9, so they know who to send a 1099 to at the end of the year - of course you have to take care of your own taxes (including employers share of FICA taxes ) if you're in independent contractor - who did you think would take care of them, so start putting 30% of your pay aside for taxes
