My Father's Leg Is Numb??

This morning when my father got out of the bed, his leg was completely numb from the knee down to his ankle? would this be caused by a pinched nerve?

Update:

it stayed numb pretty much all day he said. He has an appointment with his physician tomorrow. thanks everyone.

It could be a pinched nerve, but it could be a lot of things. He could have just slep on it just right to slow the flow of blood enough to make it go numb. If it continues or gets worse he should see a doctor.

It could be. It could also be a symptom of diabetic neurology. Is it any better after being up and walking around ? I hope he just slept on it wrong.

Has it gone now?? If not he really should of called the Doctor to check it!
