What are the consequenses of a soldering electric arc if the eyes are not protected ?

    I have never seen an arc when soldering (melting low temperature metals like tin). You must be thinking of brazing or welding, in which case you should definitely have properly tinted eye protection or mask.

    Total blindness, or at least, very damaged vision.
