what is ur impression about prayer?

just while ago, i had a chat with Radha priya of Hare Rama Hare Krishna..wonderfully about the prayers and while i see my computer, you are asking this question.. it is coinside..ok.. you need answer of my impression about 'prayer'..right ? now read:

prayers are those private human desires, dreams, aspirations, that seek fulfilement by verbal communication with the supreme lord. When God speaks to human, it is called ''intuition'', and when a human speaks to God, it is called 'prayer'. The power of faith is tremendous. see, when we have 100 worries, can we concentrate on prayers.. yes, slowly, constantly practicing with which we can concentrate. is God really hearing our prayers ? yes, we go to hospitals, we pray for the patients..a survey report say that those patients who hears the prayers are developing to some extent is true. so, when one hearing the prayer song praising the Lord gets some relief means..it is true that we also have the blessings.. why we conduct mass prayers..for peace..i wil say a truth.. yet, for question about levees, hurricanes, war, even fiscal policy, half of the americans still having faith..unshakable faith..the prayer. The hon. president of USA said to a question ''what can you and i do to help america great.'' ''we can pray'' this is the answer. surely, honestly the prayer is having answer from Lord. My impression about the prayer is ''belief'', trust, confidence, faith which makes us to surrender to the Lord. Hence, prayer is a must and will yield good results.

To me it wouldn't really mean anything as I don't believe in it. In saying that I'm not writing off anyone elses belief, it's just not for me. To people who believe in the power of prayer I would say this however:

Could it be possible that prayer is similar to confidence building exercises? Or a motovational device. I mean you pray for things and they may happen, but it's you who makes them happen, so really maybe praying is just giving you the confidence to achieve what you think you can't do on your own...

Although I am a died in the wool atheist, I believe that the mind is very powerful. Each one has a strength, either week or strong. But together minds can work as a more powerful unit. Prayer, although from the wrong starting point, certainly maintains the basic principle.

Think it, believe it, feel it and make it happen.

Well the dip above me has nothing good to say. Well Im christian and I believe prayer works. But for people who dont believe in God, I still think should say prayers as a way to "vent" their troubles, instead of keeping them bottled.

I stopped watching the news or listening to it on the radio. Too depressing. War, homes forclosed, the price of gas, the thought of Obama being president.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing fails like prayer. It may have some value simply as meditation, but that's about it.

Gets me through

It's powerful and healing, total catharsis. Sometimes I dread doing it though.

everyone needs it, but god doesn't always answer prayers for a reason..it makes you appreciate them more when he does!

is like i have a friend or a family member that i can tell everything thats happening in my life, whether its good or bad...tell what i want and what are my wishes are...its all about faith...
