Fox Hunting ?

They are carnivorous predators...

They don't really have a bad side... they may attack chickens, but this is kinda what they do as a carnivorous predator, a feral cat would do fairly similar, likewise feral dogs.

This country should really cherish this animal, along with many others of its kind which have been hunted to extinction from our land.

As others have said, you don't control the so-called vermin population with a hunt, you do it by killing the vermin... call rentakil to exterminate vermin and you won't get a bunch of dolled-up, feckless goons on horseback turn up... you'll get a gnarled old geezer who's excellent at killing stuff, or some techno variety.

How do foxes have a bad side? They are only doing what nature has designed them to do...eat other animals (which incidentally is what many humans do). If farmers are worried about chickens going missing, why don't they make fox proof fences? Foxes actually do more good than bad because they control the rabbit population...just think of all the lettuces, cabbages and carrots that saves! There would be far too many rabbits if foxes were completely wiped out (and we'd never see another lettuce! If people worked with nature rather than against it the world would be a much better place. And I agree, foxes are very intelligent creatures and I have no idea why anyone would want to cause them harm.

Perhaps the question should be 'why has almost every canine in the world been domesticated apart from the fox?' The answer can only be that the fox is deliberately kept wild so the the 'hoi polloi' can go gadding about on a Sunday morning 'ridding the countyside of a cruel and vicious killer'. If the queen didn't hunt foxes the practice would be banned outright.

I agree with you - they are stunning creatures. The myth about killing for pleasure has been disproved too - if left alone the fox WILL kill all the chickens - and then bury them as storage for future food (much as a dog buries a bone).

On the other hand, I think sheep and chicken farmers should have the right to shoot a fox which is worrying/killing their livestock as they do if a domestic dog is causing trouble.

On a similar note to another poster, I knew a farmer (sheep & chickens) who complained that the hunt caused far more damage than any old fox did....

i'm venturing a guess which you reside in super Britian, as a results of fact the Fox searching you're pertaining to is performed from Horeseback and with dogs. right here interior the united states there are purely some people who prepare this activity so it is not an argument or politically substantial situation right here...I admire the British for his or her background, yet easily won't be in a position to work out the assumption as being a "carrying" activity by utilising action or deed. right here interior the U.S. we shoot and seize Fox as a nuisance animal. there is not any Pomp and situation, neither is it a "social" adventure right here.human beings of super Britian have the main fabulous to vote and the final public have spoken. that is suggested as Democracy.....

foxes do not kill enough domesticated animals do justify this....i was brought up on a farm from a long line of farmers and i always remember my grand father and father looking on the hunt as something daft.

If i cull was necessary the fox was shot, nasty but as humane as could be managed.

incidentally we lost more lambs to the hounds on the day of the hunt than any fox ever killed

Thats lovely. I am with you on this they are beautiful animals and they dont deserve to be hunted down and killed. My ex when he was a young kid lived in the country and his family found an orphaned cub and hand reared her, she was part of their family just like a dog would be for many years. He said she could snatch a chocolate out of your hand as fast as you could blink, she lived to a ripe old age too.

Coz their a bunch of sad, rich toffs that don't give one and are too [ personality wise ] stubborn and dumb to realise its totally mean, but like the Beatles said, money cant buy you love. As for the farmers who did it I have more regard and understanding but i still don't agree with it. But why dwell its all over now no more foxys being hurt.

Foxes are vermin and their population needs to controlled in the countryside as they damage livestock. The method of that control is a different story.
