Why is the sillouette a male, if you prefer/choose not to upload a photo or use an avatar?

This question should probably be directed to the "webmaster" and/or creators of this site, I suppose (?).

Update:

And your point "Mercury Blue" is...? The FACT remains the same, IT'S A MALE!

Update 2:

I thought it would be "appropriate" to have both. A male and/or female version to choose from, that's all I meant by it! Sorry MB, I didn't mean to attack you...personally.

Update 3:

P.S. IT'S A "FRICKEN" DUDE! And, if anyone can "prove" to me otherwise (I'm not sure how this task would be accomplished, however?). Bring it on!

Update 4:

Yes MB...they do! I just thought (actually was hoping) for some female response. But, I guess I'm the only one with an "issue".

Update 5:

Well, maybe some people don't know how to use/create an "avatar".

I know of several women who have short hair. So you are being biased here, not the webmaster!

    EDIT

The point is that you shouldn't just assume it is a male. Besides, what do you want them to show instead? Please provide some constructive suggestions!

    EDIT 2

I never felt offended so don't worry!

    EDIT 3

And it is not necessarily a "dude". Maybe you are mistaking the collar for the Adam's apple. Besides, if anyone is so bothered about the gender of the default picture, don't they have the option to create an Avatar?
