Are there are any free alternative programs to DVD Shrink which can shrink a movie file?

I am looking for a Vista compatible program which works like DVD Shrink (i.e. shrink a movie to a size which can be burnt on to a single layered DVD blank). Free programs.

DVD Shrink works with Vista very well. You can also use the option to make an ISO file and burn it with DVD Decrypter (also free). It works with single or dual layer DVDs, so I don't really understand why you are looking for an alternative.

www.doom9.org has various freeware to do similar things, so if you are allergic to shrink and decrypter you may be able to find alternatives there.

AnyDVD!!! expenses $25, Decrypts each DVD, and lifelong updates. some movies it may no longer unencrypt for DVDDecrypter or shrink, yet anyDVD will rip them in a format so as that DVDshrink can burn it. another element i've got ever tried i've got run into problems, with anyDVD, each little thing is roofed. If AnyDVD can no longer rip it top off the bat, there is in many circumstances a academic on a thank you to with AnyDVD of their boards. terrific $25 I ever spent.
