After Basic Training do you get sent straight to AIT?

My boyfriend and I would like to get married before he gets sent to AIT that way we can start filing paperwork for housing. He will be stationed in Wichita Falls for 10 months and we were both wondering if they give leave after basic? He graduates from Army basic June 12th but doesn't being AIT until the 26th. I wasn't too sure what they would do in that time period or if they would give them a few days leave. Is there anyone who has been through this who can give me some idea of what may happen?

Don't believe that he will get leave. When he gets to AIT he may not start school on the date they gave him. He might have to wait for class to start or the other soldiers that have been waiting will get in class first. as far a leave goes he will be able to take leave if he has some saved up. But just to let you know if he gets into class it is going to be hard for him to take leave being that you cant miss but so much time from class before you have to re class or start the annex over.

    Good luck

Sorry Ed, i be attentive to for a reality that the army provides Christmas exodus to all infantrymen in uncomplicated and AIT. you may elect to stay, yet practise is largely on carry. The drill sergeants are taking somewhat down time to be with their families and maximum military posts are manned by means of mandatory workers in uncomplicated terms throughout that ingredient. i'm not sure of the top days, yet you may anticipate some week of time without work to cover Christmas and new years. My advice after 5 years of lively accountability: Take the bypass away and bypass spend time with your loved ones.

Personally I have never heard of a break of that length between the two, but I guess it is possible for some MOS to have it's reason.

Basic and AIT for me were less than a smoke break apart.

You will have to sign him out from basic... if i were you i would go ahead with the wedding right after you sign him out. My husband is in the Army so i know how the gov. can change their mind when ever it wants. but know that it is hard being an army wife.
