I can't get my game cube controllers to work on the wii.?

I turned off the wii and plugged in the controller. But it does not register when I try to play. Is there something special I forgot to do? I have a corded controller and a wireless controler for my game cube and neither one works.

sometimes this happens my brothers memory card wouldn't work because it was internally damaged (this could be the same case, the controler might be damaged or have many shortages that wont work on the updated wii gamecube controler ports) ask yourself how old are the controlers? have they been exposed to any liguid? are there any tears in the wire, have they been slammed ,thrown or dropped really hard, if so this could be the problem and you might need to update to the wiimote and nunchuck combinations or buy a new gamecube controllers (because on some virtual console games the gamecube controler is required)

You can only use the GameCube controllers on GameCube games or Wii games that support the controllers (like Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros.)

However, you cannot navigate the Wii menu with the controllers. You will still need the Wii Remote for that.

Try every single port. You might have it in the wrong one. Also, you can't actually use the Gamecube controller until you've used the Wii remote at the main screen to select your game.

first situation you go with the wii distant, whether you go with to play a gamecube pastime. as quickly as you place the gamecube (gc) pastime in, the wii device will immediately activate. as quickly because it activates, you may press A on the WII distant to get entry to the wii menu; the main significant exhibit on the wii. then with the wii distant you component and click the wii disck channel (the little container on the right left nook). when you click the container the gc image could look and the potions "commence" and "wii menu" could arise in the backside. as quickly as you click commence, you dont choose the wii distant anymore and youre waiting to bypass! :D oh and a few wii video games (like large destroy bros. brawl) you additionally can use the gc controller.

well first it has to be a game that supports the gamecube controller. if you have that and it is turned on then make sure the remote is plugged in. if that is the case and it still does not work i would contact nintendo because the ports are probably broken.

    1. make sure they're both in the top

    2. on the menu screen where you select games you need to use the wii-mote to choose them, once you're in the game you can use you're controller
